Donation for the Zhengzhou Rainstorm Flood Disaster on July 20, 2021

On July 20, 2021, an extraordinary rainstorm unprecedented in a century struck Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province. Subway stations, hospitals, and schools were flooded, and the entire city faced urgent emergencies, causing major losses across industries. Disaster relief became an immediate priority, and governments, organizations, and individuals in Zhengzhou joined the flood relief effort. News of the Zhengzhou flood spread nationwide through major media, personal self-media, the Internet, Douyin, and other new media platforms. Under the leadership of the Party, the spirit of 'when one side faces difficulty, support comes from all directions' inspired nationwide action. Those with funds donated money, those with strength provided manpower, and relief teams rapidly assisted Zhengzhou. Many organizations and individuals across the country donated to charitable foundations, with funds earmarked for Zhengzhou reconstruction. While monitoring the disaster, the Center learned that Zhengzhou's education system was severely affected and that school infrastructure required major repairs before students could return to classrooms. Therefore, the Center actively contacted the Shanghai Charity Foundation and donated RMB 5000, designated for repairs to schools in Zhengzhou's education system. It hopes that this modest contribution, together with many charitable donations, will form a stream of compassion and help children return to classrooms and continue their studies as soon as possible.
